Gwendolyn of the Platinum Feather
Gwendolyn was raised mostly within the Faen, the magical world that runs parallel to Alkotas, and lost herself in a bout of self indulgence almost immediately after coming to Zelmesca. She’s come to recognize her rampant dark urges as the whims of her Unseelie nature, which itself has manifested as a unique personality of its own going by the name of Gweneth.
Gwen struggles to keep herself in control, and often looks to Azade as an example despite having been shamed and exiled by her. During her time with the Garden Gwen made few deep personal connections with anyone but Myanna. She got along fairly well with Taeko but feuded openly with Thais with who Taeko was close to. Gwendolyn looks back on her time in the Garden with regret, knowing that she failed to live up to her position and treated many of the members of the Garden as servants with which she sometimes showed open contempt.
Her exile has served as an abject lesson in what becomes of anyone in authority who treats vassals as mere slaves to one’s own pleasure. Gwen’s other major regret in regards to the garden is losing what was possibly the safest outlet for her most carnal desires, which she finds must be kept secret while the power struggle within the House of the Platinum Feather continues.
